A man who authorities allege stabbed, suffocated and then dismembered the body of his girlfriend told a local reporter that he met the woman online through Facebook. He said he had been searching for new online friends. He also said he met his two alleged accomplices in a library only days before the woman was killed. Matthew Puccio is one of five people who have been charged in the death Jessica Rae Sacco. The 21 year olds’ remains were located in her apartment in Urbana, Ohio late last month. Police believe the killing took place about a week prior to finding her remains.
Two individuals from Urbana and a Fenton, Michigan couple are accused of not intervening in the killing and of aiding Puccio in cutting off or transporting the victim’s limbs that were found dumped in Kentucky and southern Ohio over 75 miles from where the victim was killed. Puccio told an interviewer that he met the two people from Urbana at the local library and then contacted them about helping him. He said he was amazed they offered to help with the cover up instead of reporting it to the police.
Puccio said through Facebook he met Sacco, while he lived in Texas. He says Sacco helped him after his former girlfriend left him with their two children. He said he argued a great deal with Sacco and a great deal of stress enveloped their relationship. He says she did not like the Michigan couple who moved in with them shortly after Puccio did.
