Suspect in Massacre Also Sexually Assaulted Victims

Police in Las Vegas are trying to figure out why a man savagely killed two people and sexually assaulted them and one other. Last weekend, Bryan Clay was apprehended by police and charged in the murder of Ignacia Martinez and her daughter, who was just ten. Both the mother and her daughter were also sexually assaulted before they were bludgeoned to death between April 15 and 16 in their home in Las Vegas.

Arturo Martinez the husband and father is still in critical condition after also being bludgeoned. Las Vegas police are saying they believe the incident to be a random killing. The family was found on April 16 when the nine-year old brother of the young girl told officials at his school that both his mother and sister were dead inside his home.

The 9-year old and a 4-year old brother have been placed in care of the state awaiting the recovery of their father. Last Saturday, Clay was booked for double homicide and an additional sexual assault against a 50-year old woman who lived nearby the victims.

DNA evidence found, places Clay at the scene of both the sexual assault and the two murders. He is being held in jail without bail. In all, Clay was charged with 11 counts; four for the assault on the 50-year old and seven for the attack against the Martinez family. Police have not mentioned what the motive may have been. All they would say was Clay was a very dangerous and thanks to good police work, he was taken off the streets so he could not harm anyone else. Later this week Clay is scheduled to make an appearance in court.
