In New Jersey, a six-year old boy who was sleeping was stabbed and killed in his bedroom on Sunday in a heinous attack that also left his 12-year old sister critically wounded. She was also sleeping in the same room, said authorities. Police reported that the home had two other children who were not harmed.
The boy, Dominick Andujor was pronounced dead by authorities at the scene of the crime. His sister remains in critical condition in the hospital. The name of the girl has not been released by authorities.
The wounded girl went from door to door trying to get help in her Camden neighborhood. Finally, one of her neighbors answered her knock and called 911. The neighbor said the 12-year old was barely able to breath and was bleeding profusely upon the arrival of authorities.
Two other girls were also in the same home aged 9 and 14, at the time of the attack. The fourteen-year old was babysitting the others because the mother of the three children was hospitalized.
Police said the individual they were seeking was well known in the area and plays with children in the neighborhood. Authorities said that neighbors are surprised to hear he might have attacked the children.
Camden, New Jersey continues to remain one of the most dangerous cities in the country.
