Holmes in Solitary Confinement

James Holmes, the accused gunman in the movie theater massacre, remains completely unapologetic for his alleged action. He is accused of killing 12 people and injuring as many as 58 more. Holmes is a former honors student and was studying for his PH.D. In the jail where he is currently being held, he is said to be irrational. Inmates who were recently released from the jail said Holmes is spitting at and on everything and believes he is taking part in a Batman movie.

Immediately after arriving, Holmes was put on suicide watch by jail authorities and placed in solitary confinement. One of the employees of the jail said that Holmes was acting very strange as if he was the Joker in a Batman film.

Two other former inmates at the jail said officials were concerned about the safety of Holmes. The first night he was in jail, many of the inmates chanted he was a child killer in reference to the 6-year old he killed during his massacre.

The inmates also said everyone was looking for an opportunity to kill Holmes, it was on the minds of every inmate and the only topic of conversation since Holmes arrived. One guard, who asked for anonymity, said that if Holmes were to enter the general population of the jail he would not be alive on Monday to make his first appearance in court. Heavy security is expected to accompany Holmes at his first court appearance Monday to hear the charges against him.
