Fans at a Madonna concert did not take to her telling them who to vote for. The Material Girl attempted to Rock the Vote Saturday night during her New Orleans concert on her MDNA Tour.
However, her decision backfired as a number of her fans walked out after the 54 year old told them to vote for President Barack Obama. Madonna is recognized currently as the world’s best selling female singing artist off all time.
While entertaining the sellout crowd who paid anywhere from $45 to a high of $335, Madonna asked who was registered to vote. She said she did not care about whom they voted for as long as it was for Obama.
Madonna has mentioned Obama in the past. Just over a month ago, she spoke about leaders like Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King while in Washington. Then she said that it was amazing the White House had an African-American president and those fine men did not die in vain.
Madonna also said that Obama was a Muslim, while she was in concert at a stop in Washington, D.C. She said everyone had better vote for Obama and that for better or worse the country had a black Muslim president.
When someone questioned her about what she said, she responded that she knew Obama was a Christian and not a Muslim, though many people believe he is Muslim. She said her point was that a good man is and will always be a good man no matter who he is praying to.
