The Boeing Company announced that it named John Wojick as the new vice president of Sales for Commercial Airplanes. He replaced Ray Conner, who was made president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes in June.
Wojick has spent 32 years in the Commercial Airplanes industry. He started his career as an aerospace engineer. His sales career began when he became the director responsible for the Continental Airlines account. When he was promoted as the head of sales in Latin America and then in the Asia Pacific region, Continental’s management requested that he retained the account. The close customer connection was beneficial for Boeing when Continental merged with United and took control of the combined airline.
He was previously the vice president of North America Sales for Commercial Airplanes. According to Conner, Wojick is one of the company’s most seasoned sales leaders with first-hand knowledge of almost all of Boeing customers across the globe.
Before his most recent position, Wojick was the head of various regions around the world within Sales, which include Leasing, Caribbean, Latin America, Asia Pacific and India. He was also the former head of sales for used and VIP airlines. He also helped launch Boeing Business Jets. During the early periods of his career, he held several assignments in maintenance and systems training, internal audit, marketing, and operations engineering.
Brad Mullen, who used to lead Japan and Oceania Sales, will take Wojick’s former position as the vice president of North America Sales. He will be responsible for the business relationships with airline customers in North America as well as the sales of all Boeing commercial airplanes and services to customers in the region.
