Republican’s supporting Mitt Romney charged that President Obama was partaking in “class warfare.” The battle for the presidency is starting to heat up as both Republicans and Democrats try to lour voters from America’s middle class.
The Obama Administration has hit back accusing the Republicans of being out of step with the values of American. Romney, it appears, will be the eventual nominee for the Republican Party to face off against Obama in November. His campaign team is launching a counter measure against the push by the president to increase taxes and a failure they say to start programs that would increase the number of jobs and speed the economic recovery.
John Sununu, the former governor of New Hampshire, who is one of Romney’s top men, said that Obama’s push for the Buffett Rule on Americas wealthiest shows his willingness to increase taxes that are punitive against the rich, while ignoring the broader base.
Sununu told reporters via the telephone that all it amounted to was an agenda of class warfare by the President. The Buffett Rule was named for billionaire Warren Buffett, an American who supports a hike in taxes for the wealthy by closing loopholes that were imposed by George W. Bush. However, Obama’s hope to pass the legislation has very little hope in a House dominated by the Republicans.
Obama has said that Romney and the Republicans are only interested in lining the pockets of the wealthy and not in helping the American working class.
