Amazon Records Best Holiday Season

Amazon has a lot to thanks about in 2012. It recently announced that the Kindle Fire HD was the top selling, most gifted, and most wished for product on Amazon. It also said that the company topped in customer satisfaction during the holiday shopping season for the eighth year in a row according to ForeSee. It got a customer satisfaction rating of 88 out of 100. Amazon

Amazon also announced that the 2012 holiday season was best in its history. Over 26.5 million items were ordered across the globe during Cyber Monday alone. It sold a record breaking 306 items per second. It looks like consumers turned to online retailers instead of going out to buy gifts for their loved ones.

The Kindle dominated the best-sellers on the online retailer, which is led by the Kindle Fire HD tablet. During Christmas Day, Amazon said that it got the record for most digital downloads for a single day.

Larry Freed, CEO and president of ForeSee, said that to get high customer satisfaction scores and sustain them over time is a feat unmatched by any other online retailer. ForeSee is a customer experience analytics company.

Other online retail sites that got good scores in the ForeSee index are Newegg.com, with 81, Hewlett-Packard’s HPShopping.com with 80, Shutterfly with 80 and Apple’s Store.Apple.com with 80.

Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon.com, said that he was pleased with his company’s success in 2012, especially during the holiday season. He is thankful for the customers for giving them a high ranking at the ForeSee customer satisfaction poll. He thanked them for opting to shop at Amazon this holiday season.
