Why it matters

OptimistFi's case is that Iridex is investable only as a fragile ophthalmic-laser turnaround, so sustained insider accumulation matters. The reported 266,068 shares equal about 46.7% of the 570,184 shares held before this batch, which is a large add-on to the position.

The price range also shows the buying continued at different levels, from $0.88 to $1.52 a share. The buys were spread across June, July, October, November and December, which makes this look like a multi-month accumulation instead of a single print. That matters because the filing shows repeated open-market buying, not one isolated transaction.

The form also says the purchases were previously unreported open-market purchases from 2025-03-25 through 2026-03-30, which puts this batch in a broader sequence rather than a one-off event.

A one-day trade would matter less than a pattern that kept building into December. The caveat is that the purchases were indirect through Xinpo and the filing was late, so the disclosure is backward-looking.

What's next

The remarks say this is the second of three Form 4 filings for previously unreported open-market purchases from 2025-03-25 through 2026-03-30. The next filing in that sequence is the clearest follow-up test for whether the accumulation kept going.

More buying in that third Form 4 would strengthen the case. A lighter follow-up would leave this report as a snapshot of past purchases rather than a fresh signal.
