
A music executive is the latest casualty in the mass murder spree in Hollywood from Friday's shootings.
December 13, 2011- John Atterberry, a real estate and music executive, succumbed to the wounds he received after being shot three times last Friday. Atterberry died on Monday. He had been driving near the intersection of Vine Street and Sunset Boulevard when Tyler Brehm opened fire and hit Atterberry twice in the face and once in the neck.
Brehm shot at the silver Mercedes of Atterberry with a .40 caliber pistol. Atterberry was the CEO and senior partner of GridLock Group said a biography that appeared on the company’s Facebook page. The LA native started in the entertainment business with Tabu Records.
After leaving the music business, he worked for a while in marketing, mainly within the fashion industry. Nevertheless, he returned to the recording business and became the VP of the recording company Death Row Records. Death Row had some of the biggest acts in hip hop on the West Coast including Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre and Tupac Shakur.
Later he founded Infusion Music Group, a music publishing business based in Los Angeles. There he worked with such entertainers as Michael Jackson, the Spice Girls, Brandy, Jessica Simpson and Christina Aguilera.
Brehm was able to fire off more than 20 rounds before the Los Angeles police killed him. He reportedly had a falling out with his girlfriend a few days prior to his shooting rampage.
