Man saved when daughters lift tractor

A man from Oregon says his two teenage daughters are the reason he is still alive today. He said they saved him last weekend after they were able to lift a tractor that weighed 3,000 off him. The man’s boot slipped off the clutch of the tractor causing the tractor to flip, pinning to the ground.

Jeff Smith was busy tending to his yard when the accident took place and he became pinned beneath the tractor’s steering wheel. He immediately had a hard time breathing and each time he called for help he was losing more breath. Desperation set in and Smith started to plead to God as his air was running out.

Then, his daughters Haylee and Hannah showed up. Haylee, 14 and Hannah, 16 arrived after hearing their father’s screams while they were walking the family’s dog near Lebanon, a small town north of Eugene, Oregon.

When they arrived, they call 911, but then decided their father could not wait any longer and grabbed a hold of the tractor and started to lift it. On their seventh or eighth try, they were able to lift it enough so their father could get free. However, Smith’s arm was still pinned under the tractor.

One of his daughter’s then went to a neighbor’s home for help and his neighbor helped lift the tractor off Smith’s arm. Smith broke his left wrist and suffered some nerve damages in the arm.

The girls’ father said the weight of the tractor is a lot and even though he is a big man, he admitted he would have a hard time lifting the tractor by himself.
