Kris Humphries is attempting to anull his marriage to reality star Kim Kardashian.
December 2, 2011- NBA player Kris Humphries filed court documents trying to get his 72-day marriage annulled. He wants to put the fiasco behind him and answered the divorce filing Kim Kardashian filed on October 31. He is seeking to have the marriage annulled on the grounds that fraud was committed.
In his court documents, he checked the box of “nullity of voidable marriage” and the box for “fraud.” He listed fraud as the reason for the annulment as he said the other options offered were ridiculous. Those other options included incest, force or bigamy.
Critics say Humphries’ fraud allegations are ridiculous as well. They say if the marriage was not real then he played a part in it. He was able to see all the cameras and may have even received a cut of the money the couple earned.
If Humphries gets the annulment, then divorce proceedings will be avoided entirely. A prenuptial agreement says that Kardashian keeps all the monies the two earned during their marriage as well as her own earnings.
Friends of Kardashian have said Humphries put her down and freeloaded off her during their short romance. He is said to have belittled her when with others. He is accused of saying her fame would be short lived since she had no talent.
