Chesapeake Energy Stock Rating Reaffirmed by TheStreet (CHK)

Chesapeake Energy (NYSE: CHK)‘s stock had its “hold” rating reiterated by investment analysts at TheStreet in a note issued to investors on Tuesday.

The analysts wrote, “Chesapeake Energy (CHK) has been reiterated by TheStreet Ratings as a hold with a ratings score of C- . The company’s strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth and expanding profit margins. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including deteriorating net income, disappointing return on equity and weak operating cash flow.”

Shares of Chesapeake Energy (NYSE: CHK) traded down 4.67% during mid-day trading on Tuesday, hitting $21.135. Chesapeake Energy has a one year low of $13.32 and a one year high of $26.09. The stock’s 50-day moving average is currently $20.39. The company’s market cap is $13.641 billion.

Chesapeake Energy (NYSE: CHK) last released its earnings data on Thursday, February 21st. The company reported $0.26 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter, beating the consensus estimate of $0.15 by $0.11. The company had revenue of $3.54 billion for the quarter, compared to the consensus estimate of $2.82 billion. During the same quarter in the prior year, the company posted $0.58 earnings per share. They now have a $26.00 price target on the stock.
