iOS App Store Downloads Soar

Last month the new iOS 8, iPhone 6 and Plus 6 were launched, creating a 42% increase in Apple’s iOS during last month, with a completely new set of features and apps as well.

An Internet research firm released the information. The firm records the downloads of apps and how the sales of different smartphones affects the download of different apps.

Last month a new record was set for downloading apps with over 7.8 million. According to online research, that is an increase of 39% year over year. An online research company says that the increase of downloads is caused by the release of the new iPhone 6, because millions of people are filling up their new devices with applications.

Developers have always been in constant competition for the best prices. However, the level of competition has increased more and more.

Online studies have shown that the cost for an iOS app to be launched increased 24% last month to 29 cents, or a yearly increase of 39%. That is much higher than Android’s index is estimated at 10 cents per app. The increase in cost demonstrates that there is more competition and rivalry taking place this year.

Developers are keeping their hopes up that this holiday season will create another app download wave.

However, because bigger players are beginning to be involved, more advertising is taking place due to the competition and this has in turn caused the cost per app to increase.

Even though there was a great deal of competition in October, prices were lower in at least one of the different app categories.

Online research companies said that data reflects how important it is to have loyal customers for developers, because loyal customers decrease the cost to install apps.

If the number of downloaded apps were equal to the number of devices sold, then the yearly increase of apps in the amount of 39% would mean that Apple would have sales of 70 million mobile devices during 2014, which would beat the prior sales records that have increased year to year since the first iPhone was released.
