Border Patrol Arrest Snoop Dogg On Possession Charge

Rap legend Snoop Dogg was caught with marijuana.

January 10, 2012- Rapper icon Snoop Dogg was arrested this past weekend by the border patrol after they found marijuana on his bus. The record producer and rapper was stopped at the border crossing in Sierra Blanca, Texas. This checkpoint was the same one where Willie Nelson, the country singer, was arrested in 2010 for marijuana possession.

Bill Brooks, a U.S. Border Protection spokesman, said Customs and Border agents were conducting a routine inspection when they smelled what they thought was marijuana on the record producer’s bus. Upon further inspection, the officers discovered a small quantity of marijuana. Brooks said the border patrol then turned Mr. Dogg over to a local county sheriff.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson said the entertainer admitted the drug was his. A member of the canine unit found the marijuana rolled in joints inside a prescription bottle along with two additional containers that contained the drug.

Snoop Dogg was cited for drug possession and released. He is to appear in court on January 20. Over the last decade, the entertainer has been arrested on numerous occasions for drug and weapons offenses.

Nelson and Snoop Dogg collaborated on My Medicine a song and video that paid homage to marijuana. Both have let their appreciation of the drug become a part of their persona.
