
Former 80's TV star Melissa Gilbert is slated to appear on the new edition of Dancing with the Stars.
February 29, 2012- The fourteenth edition of Dancing with the Stars will start soon. On Tuesday, the show’s producers announced the new cast. The new cast contains a couple of surprises but little controversy. The Show created a spectacle in Los Angeles at the El Capitan Theatre. Fans waved signs and caused a frenzy as Brook Burke and Tom Bergeron announced the new cast.
A few of the big names that will appear in the upcoming show include Gladys Knight, Maria Menounos, Jaleel White (Steve Urkel) and Gavin DeGraw. The show will also include Jack Wagner of the Bold and the Beautiful, Melrose Place and General Hospital.
Melissa Gilbert who played on the show Little House on the Prairie in the 1970s was also cast. Green Bay Packer wide receiver Donald Driver will partner with professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd.
Cuban born William Levy, a star of soap operas in Mexico, will team up with Cheryl Burke. Opera star Katherine Jenkins joins dancer Mark Ballas to form yet another team. Former tennis great Martina Navratilova will also dance in the upcoming 14th edition of DWTS.
The announcement also had its share of notable absences. No reality stars or politicians will appear in the new show. Speculation swirled that Herman Cain or Michele Bachmann might dance but both decided against it.
